Our Career Training course, Career Connection, is adding a few new enhancements to ensure our students will receive the best training possible. In the soft skills portion we will extend the training one more day creating a 5-day intensive course at The Refuge. We have also partnered with UT Extensions to add a financial simulator class to the soft skills course. Justin Thomas, of UT Extensions, will be teaching the financial simulator class. This will give our students a hands-on, simulated, real life experience managing finances while having to maintain sustainability throughout the simulator.
In the hard skills training portion at Cleveland State Community College OneSource 2 more training days have been added creating a 7-day intensive boot camp. In the MIG Welding course students can receive an AWS (American Welding Society) Certification and, added this year, OSHA 10 Certification. The OSHA 10 Certification cost is very generously being covered by Waupaca Foundry.
These new classes and certifications give the students an even greater training but also add enhancements to their resume. They will enter the workforce even more knowledgeable and ready for careers. We greatly appreciate all of our partners and sponsors as this life changing program would not be possible without each of you.
